He was the first warranty center for the Crosman Airgun Company and when he went into semi-retirement in 1959 he wanted to do Airgun service for the rest of his days. He loved these little machines as much as I do and he was one of the best mechanics I've ever had the pleasure to learn from. Coincident to the 80th anniversary of what was known as Les McMurray's Fin Fur and Feather is my 30th anniversary ownership of the firm now known as Mac1 Airgun Distributors. Witnessing my friend Billy Lo dominate the competition with US FT #6 for a National FT Championship in 2005 is the turning point for Mac1. The US FT represents the culmination of efforts by my friend Larry Durham (LD) to create a timelessly accurate rifle. LD's second hand built LD SS (Simple Simon) rifle was delivered to Steve Schulz in 2001 and he subsequently proved it's worth with the National FT title for the following year, Once the Simple Simon gun saw success it made possible the limited production version we have now completed nearly 250 of. No project has ever given me the level of personal satisfaction I get from delivering these extraordinary rifles. They are a joy to shoot and share with all those shooters who feel accuracy is why they got into airgunning in the first place. In 2007 Paul Cray won the FT Nats & the FT Worlds both with his US FT. In 2008 the first American Bench Rest Associations Airgun division match was won by Marvin Reynolds shooting his US FT. In 2009 US FT won again. In 2009 Harold Rushton won the FT Nats with his #19 US FT and just recently repeated for 2010. He basically hasn't lost a match since he has used the US FT. In 2010 Jerry LaRocca from New York gave us our first LD MKI FT Pistol championship to add to the stellar list of Silhouette championships to extensive to list. Our focus is now on the Bench Rest. The World Championship in South Carolina 2011 showed that the USA bench resters are the best and American Airguns get iot done. The Stainless Steel .22 caliber 2 groove American made barrels were at the top of the pile at the end of that event with Todd Banks waving the USA flag. American guns and shooters took 1 st, me in 3 rd and Larry Durham in 4th for a nearly dominant result in Heavy Varmint class.
